چکیده

Abstract Phenolic compounds and biopotential (antioxidant, cellular antioxidant cytotoxic activity) of grape pomace (GP) skin, seed, stem whole GP originating from indigenous red variety Prokupac were evaluated. The UHPLC-Orbitrap MS4 analysis showed the presence 75 phenolic (57 non-anthocyanins 18 anthocyanins), among which considerable content ethyl gallate was observed malvidin-3-O-hexoside-(8,8)-methylmethyne-(epi)catechin identified. had significant stilbenoids. seed highest activity estimated by ABTS•+ DPPH• H2O2 scavenging assays that strongly correlated with flavan-3-ols, acids gallate. skin exerted on adenocarcinoma cells (EC50 = 56.4 mg TPCs/mL) flavonols anthocyanins. These by-products are a notable source good can be extensively used in food pharmaceutical industry.

Phenolic compounds, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of pomace extracts from four Virginia‐grown grape varieties

Grape pomace is a potential source of natural antioxidant and antimicrobial agents. Phenolic compounds, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of pomace extracts from four Virginia-grown grape varieties were investigated. White grape pomaces had higher (P < 0.05) solvent extraction yield than red varieties. Concentrations of total phenolic (TPC), total flavonoid (TFC), total anthocyanin (TAC...
